Today I’m back with a post that you’ve all been asking for. During my trip to Vegas I took two amazing day trips and they really were the highlight of the holiday. I went to The Grand Canyon and Death Valley. This post is all about The Grand Canyon and next week I will share my Death Valley trip.
As much as I loved the bright city lights and the hustle and bustle of the strip, taking to the air to see one of the seven natural wonders of the world beat any casino hands down!
Visiting The Grand Canyon has been on my bucket list for as long as I can remember. I’m not really sure what I’d imagined it would look like but flying into the depths of the Canyon definitely exceeded all expectations.
I hope you enjoy this post.
Until next time,
We booked our trip before we left with Maverick Helicopter Tours. View their website here. We were picked up from our hotel by limo and brought to the Maverick headquarters where we were given a safety briefing before boarding the helicopter. There were six of us in total and the pilot made sure that we all got a chance to sit up front.
We took off and flew over the strip getting a totally new perspective. Then we headed out towards Hoover Dam with music coming through our headphones and the pilot pointing out areas of interest. It was just the right amount of information, allowing us to sit back and take in the views.
When we arrived at the Canyon I was pretty much lost for words. The view from the helicopter was breathtaking. Maverick Helicopter Tours land in the West Rim of the Canyon and no other tour operator goes as far or as deep into this area.
When we landed we were given champagne and a light lunch and got to enjoy the scenery.
It was a truly spectacular day and I would recommend Maverick Tours to anyone. The trip we took was the Wind Dancer Air and Landing Tour and cost $544 per person. Book this here.
